Privacy Policy

Onslow's is operated by Amik Holdings Inc. (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Onslow's mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account we collect your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth). You may also provide your name, profile photo, and neighborhood.
Pet Information
You may provide your dog's name, breed, age, sex, bio, and photo. You may also provide health information including:
- Weight, allergies, and dietary preferences
- Microchip ID
- Vaccination records (vaccine name, date given, next due date)
- Medications (name, type, dosage, frequency, condition, start/stop dates, dose schedule)
- Vet clinic and doctor details
This information is stored to power health tracking features and is only visible according to your privacy settings.
Location Data
With your permission, we access your device's precise GPS location to find nearby dog parks and services. Your coordinates are sent to Google Places API to return nearby results.
Background location: When you start a walk using the walk tracker, the app requests background location permission to continue recording your route when the app is in the background or the screen is locked. Background location is only active during an in-progress walk and stops when you end the walk. You can revoke background location permission at any time in your device settings.
Park check-in locations and timestamps are stored to enable community features such as park regulars and conditions reporting.
Activity Data
When you log activities (walks, meals, vet visits, grooming, daycare, mood checks, medications), the details you enter — including captions, notes, ratings, and tagged friends — are stored to build your pet's health timeline. Photos you upload with activities are stored in our cloud storage.
Social & Community Data
Posts, comments, likes, follows, event RSVPs, and direct messages you create are stored to enable community features. You control whether your activities appear in the public feed.
Contacts
With your permission, we may access your device's contact list to help you invite friends to the app. Contact data is processed locally on your device to display names and enable sharing. We do not upload or store your contacts on our servers.
Device Information
We collect your push notification token (with your permission) to send you notifications about reminders, messages, and activity updates. This token is stored alongside your user profile.
Analytics & Crash Reporting
We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage analytics including which screens you visit and which features you use. Your user ID and email are associated with analytics events to help us understand user behavior and improve the app. You can request deletion of your analytics data by contacting us.
We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error logs. When the app encounters an error, diagnostic information (error message, stack trace, app version, device type) is sent to Sentry to help us identify and fix bugs. Crash data does not include your personal content (messages, photos, etc.).
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and improve the Onslow's app experience
- Display nearby parks, services, and community content
- Track your pet's health timeline and medication reminders
- Enable social features (feed, follows, messaging)
- Send push notifications you have opted into
- Analyze app usage to improve features and fix bugs
- Monitor app stability and diagnose crashes
- Generate service demand insights (aggregated booking interest shared with businesses does not include your name or pet's name)
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the app:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
- Cloudinary — image optimization and delivery
- Google Places API — park and service location search (your coordinates are sent to Google for nearby results)
- Anthropic (Claude) — vaccine record scanning (photos are processed for text extraction and are not retained by Anthropic beyond the API call) and content moderation (uploaded images are reviewed for safety and are not retained by Anthropic beyond the API call)
- Expo — push notification delivery
- PostHog — usage analytics (events and user identification sent to PostHog's US servers)
- Sentry — crash and error reporting
Each service processes data according to their own privacy policies. We do not control how these services handle data beyond what we send them.
4. Data Storage, Security & Retention
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers with row-level security enforced on all database tables. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. API keys with elevated permissions are kept server-side and never included in the app.
Data retention: Your data is stored for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently removed (see Section 6). We do not retain personal data after account deletion. Analytics and crash data may be retained in aggregated form after account deletion.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed above as necessary to operate the app.
Aggregated, non-identifying data (such as the number of booking requests for a service, without names or pet details) may be shared with businesses listed on the platform.
6. Your Rights & Controls
- Control which activities appear in the public feed
- Choose whether to share visits on service profile pages
- Revoke location or contacts permissions in your device settings at any time
- Request a copy of your data by emailing support@onslows.co
- Request deletion of your analytics data by contacting us
- Delete your account and all associated data from Settings
- Contact us at support@onslows.co with any privacy questions
When you delete your account, all your personal data, pet profiles, activity logs, posts, messages, medications, and uploaded media are permanently removed from our servers.
7. Children's Privacy
Onslow's is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@onslows.co.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
